Have you ever wondered why your painting looks “off”?
Let me share what I discovered after studying thousands of paintings throughout my career.
The one thing that separates mediocre paintings from collectible masterpieces…
...is an artist with a firm grasp of design!
Most artists look for good subjects to paint…
But, paying attention to how career-level master artists work, it’s a much better idea to look for good design!
If you don’t start with design, you’re simply cataloging the scene in front of you, and that’s not what you want to do…
...especially if you want to sell your painting!
I’ve seen way too many artists paint without a game plan.
A big mistake!
When you have an “overriding structure” — or a design idea — you’re going to have a clear roadmap, which means you’ll have indicators of where you’re going and when you’ve arrived.
Without a roadmap, you’re going to end up all over the place!
Starting with design means you’ll also effectively erase any doubts while painting, giving you full confidence and almost guaranteeing the end result will turn out the way you want it.
Now, I bet you already have amazing painting skills…
But if you want to turn your artwork into attention-grabbing paintings … then starting with design is key!
That’s why I’m so excited to tell you about a brand new instructional video by the amazing Mary Garrish called The 6 Elements of Design.
